Soap Carving Class

The Piedmont Wood Carvers Club is offering Soap Carving Classes for ages 5 years and up (must be accompanied by a parent or guardian). The class will be 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. on the first Saturday of each month starting June 2021 at the Mauldin Cultural Center. The cost is $5 for supplies.

Mauldin City Singers Community Choir
Rehearsals begin Thursday, September 9

Pam Mayfield, retired choral music teacher from Mauldin High School, is beginning a community choir open to everyone age 16 and up. All genres of music will be explored through this group, including classics, sacred, gospel, folk, pop, showtunes, and more. Mauldin City Singers will perform two concerts each year, one at Christmas and one in the spring. Pam invites anyone interested to sign up!
Participants are required to purchase a choir-specific mask to allow for a safe singing environment.

The class sizes are small, with interactive instruction that provides individual attention to each student. Regular theater classes taught by Tim St. Clair, II will start in January, 2021 every Thursday at 4:00 p.m. Acting, singing, dancing… we will be covering it all! For middle school through adult ages. Email [email protected] to enroll! Space is limited.
Tim started the Mauldin Youth Theatre program in 2017 and has been directing sold-out shows at the Cultural Center ever since. He has worked in local theatres across the Upstate since 2010. Tim has also put the spotlight on Upstate artists on his YouTube channel with Upstate Sings!, a group dedicated to bringing performers together with digital musical performances.

Guitar Lessons

Taught by Brandon Dyke, the Mauldin Cultural Center hosts a wide range of classes, including guitar ensemble, rock improvising, and music theory. You can also bring a friend or family member and take paired guitar lessons, which continue to offer more individualized attention than a larger class would, but can add extra fun and motivation as you learn along with someone else. Brandon offers both group and private lessons.

Wood Carving

Monthly Members Business Meeting | 3rd Saturday

The Piedmont Wood Carvers Club hosts a carve-in every Wednesday evening, 2 – 8 p.m. This unstructured carving session does not require a membership. They also host a monthly Members Business Meeting on the 3rd Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Throughout the year, they host workshops and special classes ranging from intaglio relief to pyrography. Stay tuned to their schedule for upcoming workshops.
