Actors for Mauldin Theatre Company and Greenville Theatre’s co-production of Jesus Christ Superstar in concert.
Seeking actors with local housing only at this time.
Only seeing actors 15 years of age and older at this time.
Please see individual breakdown for roles, dates, and details. Although the breakdown lists gender identity as indicated by the playwright, we welcome actors of all gender expressions to present for the roles they most identify with.
We will be accepting video audition submissions in addition to our in-person appointments. Video submission details and instructions will be provided separately by email request only.

I am seeking instructions to submit a virtual audition for Jesus Christ Superstar in concert at Mauldin Theatre Company / Greenville Theatre. Then state the area for your local housing during the duration of the contract.
Virtual auditions must be submitted by Thursday, September 24, 2026 at 6pm for consideration.
PREPARATION
Please prepare 1 song of your own choosing (32 bar cut or 90 seconds in length) in the style of the show. Actors are allowed and welcome to sing a song from the show.
BlueTooth speakers will NOT be available. An accompanist will be provided. Please bring sheet music in your key for the audition. Please also bring your audition book, or 1 back-up song in case the creative team would like to hear further material.
Please bring a hard copy of your headshot (picture) and resume, stapled together back to back. If you do not have a professional headshot, please provide the creative team with a current photo.

Meeting Room, located in front of the building, opposite the Auditorium. Auditions will be in progress so please do not come directly into the room upon arrival. You will need to check-in first.
Parking:
Parking is always free at Mauldin Cultural Center, and is located in front of the building.
Check-in:
Please look for directional signage in the hallway to direct you to check-in. A monitor will be there to verify your name and audition time. You may wait in the Greenroom until the monitor lets you know it is your time to head to the meeting room for your audition. Restrooms are available in our lobby for usage.

Please note that the roles of Jesus of Nazareth and Judas Iscariot have been cast. All other roles are open and available. We are looking for a diverse company of performers.
Mary Magdelene: Female identifying, range F3-D#5/Eb5. She is Jesus’ most intimate confidante, a reformed prostitute whose unwavering devotion evolves into unspoken romantic love, offering emotional sanctuary amid chaos and representing themes of redemption and unconditional acceptance.
Peter: Male identifying, range G2-G4. He is Jesus’ impulsive right-hand apostle, a baritone Everyman whose bravado crumbles into cowardice, symbolizing the frailty of human commitment and the pain of denial.
Simon Zealotes: Male identifying, range G3-B4. He is a fiery tenor apostle and revolutionary zealot who idealizes Jesus as a political liberator, urging violent uprising against Rome in a high-energy number that showcases the movement’s militant fringe.
Caiaphas: Male identifying, range C2 (low C)-F4. He is the high priest of Sanhedrin, a commanding bass-baritone who prioritizes institutional stability over spiritual truth, viewing Jesus as a blasphemous threat that could provoke Roman annihilation of Jewish autonomy.
King Herod: Male identifying, range C3-G4. He is a frivolous and witty ruler unimpressed with Jesus. He taunts and teases Jesus, demanding that he perform trivial miracles to prove his identity.
Pontius Pilot: Male identifying, range A2-B4. He is the conflicted Roman prefect of Judea, a baritone figure of reluctant authority who embodies imperial detachment and moral cowardice, haunted by prophetic dreams that foreshadow his infamous role in Jesus’ fate.
Annas: Male identifying, range G2-D5. He is a major advisor to the head priest and is disturbed by Jesus’ growing popularity. He is dedicated to the priesthood and sees the wellbeing of his people as his responsibility.
Ensemble: Any gender expression, all vocal ranges. They play the nine ensemble-apostle roles (Judas, Peter & Simon are featured soloists), Jesus’ followers, high priests, the public condemning Jesus, and other incidental characters (lepers/beggars, characters in the temple, etc).

SEEKING
Mauldin Youth Theatre is seeking performers currently in 7th through 12th grade for our Season 10 production of Legally Blonde JR.
All roles are open and available.
We are looking for a dynamic and diverse company of young performers who are excited to sing, dance, act, and work together as an ensemble.
Although character descriptions may include gender as written in the script, we welcome performers of all gender expressions to audition for the roles with which they most identify.
SUBMISSION
Audition registration opens Tuesday, September 22, 2026.
In-person auditions will be held Saturday, October 3, 2026, by appointment. Please use the registration link below to select an audition time and submit the requested audition information.
If you are unable to attend the in-person audition, you may submit a video audition.
Video auditions must be received by Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at 8:00 PM.

PREPARATION
Please prepare approximately 32 bars or 60–90 seconds of a musical theatre song that best showcases your voice and personality.
An accompanist will be provided for in-person auditions. Please bring clearly marked sheet music in the correct key.
Please also bring a current headshot or photo and theatrical resume, if available. A professional headshot and resume are not required to audition.
Additional dance or reading material may be provided as part of the audition or callback process.
CALLBACKS
Callbacks, if needed, will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2026.
Performers who are needed for callbacks will receive additional information from the creative team following the initial audition process.
Not receiving a callback does not necessarily mean that a performer is no longer under consideration for the production.

REHEARSALS
Rehearsals begin January 2027.
The typical rehearsal schedule will be:
Monday–Friday, 6:30–9:00 PM
Generally, either Wednesday or Friday will be scheduled off.
Saturdays, 11:00 AM–2:00 PM
Not every performer will be called to every rehearsal. A detailed rehearsal schedule will be provided following casting.
Additional or extended rehearsals may be scheduled as the production approaches tech week and opening.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN
Elle Woods
The energetic, determined, and optimistic center of the story. Elle begins her journey determined to win back her ex-boyfriend but discovers her own intelligence, confidence, and purpose along the way. Strong singer, actor, and mover with excellent comedic timing and stage presence.
Emmett Forrest
A smart, hardworking law student who becomes Elle’s friend and supporter. Grounded, sincere, and charming with a strong sense of humor. Strong singer and actor.
Paulette Buonufonté
A warm, funny, and outspoken salon owner who becomes one of Elle’s closest friends. A big comedic personality with plenty of heart. Strong singer and character actor.
Warner Huntington III
Elle’s ex-boyfriend, whose decision to attend Harvard Law sends Elle on her journey. Charming and confident, but very concerned with status and expectations. Strong singer and actor.
Vivienne Kensington
A driven and intelligent Harvard Law student who initially sees Elle as a rival. Over the course of the story, she begins to recognize and respect Elle’s abilities. Strong singer and actor.
Professor Callahan
A powerful and demanding Harvard Law professor. Intelligent, intimidating, and accustomed to being in control. Strong actor and singer with commanding stage presence.
Brooke Wyndham
A famous fitness instructor accused of murder and defended by Callahan’s legal team. Confident, charismatic, physically energetic, and a strong vocalist. This role requires significant movement and dance ability.
Margot, Serena & Pilar
Elle’s closest friends and the leaders of the Delta Nu sorority. They serve as Elle’s energetic and often hilarious support system throughout the show. Strong singers and dancers with big personalities and excellent comedic instincts.
Enid Hoopes
An outspoken, intelligent Harvard Law student with strong opinions and a distinct personality. Strong comedic actor.
Kyle
A charismatic delivery person who catches Paulette’s attention. A fun featured comedic role with plenty of personality.
Grandmaster Chad / Featured Roles
Several featured roles appear throughout the production and offer opportunities for performers to create memorable characters and have featured vocal or acting moments.
Delta Nu / Greek Chorus
Elle’s sorority sisters who appear throughout the show as part of her imagination and support system. These performers help drive the energy and comedy of the production and should be strong singers and movers.
Ensemble
The ensemble is a major part of Legally Blonde JR. and portrays Harvard students, law students, salon patrons, courtroom characters, prison inmates, store employees, and other featured roles throughout the production. We are seeking energetic performers who are comfortable singing, dancing, acting, and creating distinct characters.
