A Christmas Carol AuditionsCATS: Young Actors Edition Auditions

The Mauldin Theatre Company is a community theater program. There are no paid roles in this production. The Mauldin Theatre Company holds auditions for actors in the community who are interested. No prior experience is necessary to audition.

Please read the points below, as our process has changed.

  • Auditions will take place in the auditorium.
  • Roles are available for both youth and adult actors.
  • Please prepare a 30-60 second monologue and a 60 second cut of a song to perform. You may bring sheet music or your phone to play a track along with your audition. We will proved a bluetooth speaker for auditions.
  • Auditioners will be taught a dance routine that groups will perform together. Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes to dance in. No open-toed shoes please. Tap dancing experience is a plus.
  • Called back auditioners will be asked to read from the script in groups.
  • AUDITIONING DOES NOT GUARANTEE ACTORS A ROLE. All auditioners will be notified if he/she has been offered a role in the production.

Youth Auditions (age 15 and under): 10:30 a.m. | Callbacks at 7 p.m.

Adult Auditions (age 16 and over): 3 p.m. | Callbacks at 7 p.m.

CALLBACK AUDITIONS DATE: Saturday, September 10, 2022 | 7 p.m.
Please make sure you are available for the callback time as well.

SHOW DATES: December 2-4 & 9-11, 2022 (eight shows total)

REHEARSALS: Rehearsals TBD.

AVAILABLE ROLES: TBA. All auditioning actors must be able to read and comprehend the script without assistance.

Registration & Audition Form

Pre-registration is required. All auditioners should arrive no later than 15 minutes prior to his/her scheduled audition block to ensure a smooth schedule. All actors must be available for all production dates.  Actors are strongly encouraged to provide a completed audition form and headshot photo in advance. This photo does not need to be professional, just helps the director put a name with a face.

  • Please note that this is a dance-heavy show.
  • Participants will need to prepare 30-60 seconds of a song. They may bring sheet music for a pianist to accompany or a track on their phone or device to play through our bluetooth speaker.
  • No monologue is needed for this audition.
  • A dance routine will be taught that groups will perform together. Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes to dance in. No open-toed shoes please.
  • AUDITIONING DOES NOT GUARANTEE ACTORS A ROLE. All auditioners will be notified if they have been offered a role in the production.
