MCC Shakes! holds auditions for actors in the community who are interested. No prior experience is necessary to audition.

Please read the points below, as our process has changed.

  • Auditions will take place between 2-4 p.m. on the Outdoor Amphitheater stage behind the Cultural Center.
  • No registration required; those interested may come to audition at any point between 2-4 p.m. on March 6.
  • Auditioners should bring a headshot and will fill out an audition form upon arrival.
  • The audition will be a cold-read, so auditioners do not need to prepare a monologue.
  • There will not be callbacks for this audition.
  • All actors must be available for all production dates.
  • Auditioners age 11 and up are welcome, though roles are mostly for older teens and adults. This is a full production of William Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night,” not a JR. version.
  • Video auditions are also welcome. Video auditions can be sent to [email protected]; deadline is 5 p.m. on March 7.

Please note: Auditioners and staff are encouraged to wear masks and practice social distancing during outdoor auditions.

TWELFTH NIGHT GENERAL INFO

AUDITION DATE: Saturday, March 6, 2021 | 2 – 4 p.m.

VIDEO AUDITION DEADLINE: Sunday, March 7, 2021 | 5 p.m.

SHOW DATES: May 21-23, 2021 | 6:30 p.m. (three shows total)

REHEARSALS: TBD. A rehearsal schedule will be provided to participants.

AVAILABLE ROLES: Actors age 11 and up are welcome to audition, though roles are mostly for older teens and adults.

  • Please prepare a monologue from the show or of a similar style.
  • Called back auditioners will be asked to read from the script in groups.
  • AUDITIONING DOES NOT GUARANTEE ACTORS A ROLE. All auditioners will be notified if he/she has been offered a role in the production.
  • Please note that this is a community theater production and not a paid position.
  • Pre-registration for auditions is REQUIRED. Please view registration, audition form, and headshot information below.

Freaky Friday: the Musical

FREAKY FRIDAY GENERAL INFO

CALL-BACK DATE: Saturday, February 27, 2021 | Starting at 7 p.m.
Actors only need to attend call-backs if called back by the director. Please make sure you are available for that evening as well in case you are called back.

SHOW DATES: May 7-9 & 14-15, 2021 (eight shows total)

REHEARSALS: TBD. A rehearsal schedule will be provided to participants.

Registration & Audition Form

Pre-registration is required. All auditioners should arrive no later than 15 minutes prior to his/her scheduled audition block to ensure a smooth schedule. All actors must be available for all production dates.  Actors are strongly encouraged to provide a completed audition form and headshot photo in advance. This photo does not need to be professional, just helps the director put a name with a face.

SHOW DATES: April 9-11, 16-18, & 23-25, 2021 (twelve shows total)

REHEARSALS: TBD. A rehearsal schedule will be provided to participants.

AVAILABLE ROLES: TBA.
All auditioning actors must be able to read and comprehend the script without assistance.
