Acting Community: Adult Acting Class (Two, 6-week Sessions available)

Ages 18+ | $25 per 6-week session

Every Thursday at 6:30pm – 7:30pm | Jan. 18th, 2024 – Feb. 22, 2024 [REGISTRATION CLOSED] Every Wednesday at 10:30am – 11:30am | Feb. 28th, 2024 – April 10th, 2024 *excludes Spring Break

Instructor: Mia Phillips

In each 6-week session, class members will have the opportunity to explore acting and performance skills. This is a great class for those who are looking to discover new ways of self-expression through their bodies, mind, and voices!  All ages are welcome as we focus on improvisation in these first two week sessions. Improvisation is often referred to as “Yes, and…”  As actors become comfortable with improvisation, they find it helps in so many aspects of life; learning to pivot easily in certain situations, talking with friends or family who have dementia or other memory issues, and dealing with their own stress as they find an oftentimes, humorous release.

Instructor: Mia Phillips

This 12-week class is an extension of our Leading Player Summer Camp. In this class, students will hone theatrical tools that will help them wherever their acting skills take them! Students build confidence and have the opportunity to start developing their “actor’s notebook” through improvisation, monologue and scene work, and working together as an ensemble. Students will work together to create a final performance to showcase some of their favorite moments from class.
